When it comes to skincare most guys are lazy. We want perfect skin without putting in any effort.

Clear skin is definitely attainable if you follow some simple, important steps. A skincare regime can be easily added to your day with 3-5 minutes in the morning and evening.

1 - Cleanse

This is the one step most guys already have covered. Simply apply some face wash to your finger tips and work it in circular motions onto damp skin. Rinse immediately.

Cleansing should be done daily to remove excess oil and easily removable impurities in the skin. (Make sure you use sensitive face wash if your skin reacts to a normal facewash)

2 - Exfoliate

Exfoliation is simply removing dead skin cells, oils and impurities from the skin.

If you've ever used a shower product that contained grainy or rough pieces it was most likely for exfoliation.

Everytime you shave with a razor you are also exfoliating half of your face. I recommend regular shaving for those with oily skin to help combat build up of oil in the pores.

Exfoliation is essential to properly cleanse the skin. A lot of acne and oily symptoms are caused by blocked pores filled with excess oil or dirt in the skin. Exfolitating will basically sand back the skin gently to reveal the fresher skin cells underneath.

Every person's skin is different so make sure you find the right product for your skin type. Try to exfoliate your skin every 2-3 days minimum with a quick face scrub. Simply apply the face scrub to the damp face and gently exfoliate the skin with your fingers in circular motions. Rinse off with warm water.
You can apply the face scrub to dry skin for a more thorough occasional exfoliation.

(Make sure you use sensitive face wash if your skin reacts to a normal facewash)

3 - Moisturise

Scientists have proven that every year from about 20 years of age we lose 1% of our skins elasticity. This is why the older you get the more loose and wrinkly your skin appears.

Moisturising the skin gives it nutrients and revitalisation that seeps into the lower layer below to provide added elasticity.

Make sure you use a moisturiser for your specific skin type. Using a moisturiser for dry skin on oily skin is only going to worsen your skin condition and vice versa.

To apply the moisturiser simply add a small dot of the cream on your finger tips and apply evenly over the skin. Do this after shaving and apply to a dry face.

Important Information

-Your skin's life is generally 21-28 days. For an effective skincare regime to take affect you must continue for at least this long. It's not unusual to have a break out or irritated skin for the first 3-5 days of a new regime. (If the problems worsen see a dermatoligist.)

-The best treatment for your skin is a good nights sleep. Try to get at least 8 hours sleep each night to help keep your skin looking fresh.

-Hydration. It's essential to keep well hydrated, besides the other obvious health benefits water also keep your skin looking fresh and youthful.

-Always use sunscreen. The harsh rays from the sun can damage skin over time. People who don't apply sunscreen well at an earlier age will end up with damaged skin later in life. Not only is this an effective skin cancer repellant but it also keeps your skin looking good.

Recommended Brands

When it comes to skincare there is plenty of choice. The most important aspect of choosing a product is matching it correctly to your skin type. I've listed three brands I've personally tried and tested at three different price points. (Remember to stick with your regime for at least a month before making any decisions on it's effect.)
