SCARVES
Types - There are quite a few types of belts. The buckle size and shape changes dramatically based on the brand and formality you're after.
The other differences are based on the composition. Cheaper belts are made from synthetic fibers and the higher quality belts are made from real leather.
Price Range - For a decent belt you're looking at a minimum spend of $40+
Don't let this put you off. A good belt can last a lifetime, especially if you have a few to rotate in your wardrobe.
Recommended Types - Get yourself a leather belt in tan and black. Go for a belt with a nice classic looking buckle.
Remember the buckle is what people look at as it's centered on your body.
Sizing - Belt sizing is based on your waist. In Australia this is generally measured in inches. A belt will give you a size range (Example 28-30)
Make sure you have a few spare holes on either side of the used hole when trying the belt on. This allows for weight gain/loss.
Types - Scarves are quite straightforward. You have thick and thin scarves with different textures and patterns. The higher quality the fabric, the more expensive the scarf is. Your standard cheap scarves are made from cotton and synthetic materials. The more expensive scarfs tend to be made from wool/cashmere/silk.
Price Range - For a quality scarf expect to pay at least $30+ with premium products closer to $70+
Recommended Types - Scarves are like ties. You want a variety of colours and textures depending on the season and the colour jacket/sweater you are wearing. Get yourself at least two pairs of thin scarves for autumn/spring and 2-3 warmer scarves (wool/cashmere) for winter. A beautiful scarf can instantly transform a boring outfit into a stylish one.
Sizing - Scarves are sold at one length. Try to match the scarf type to your body type.
Don't wear a long scarf if you're five foot tall (unless you want to elaborately loop it around your neck)
