5 Style Trends a Man Should Avoid
Let's talk about five key style trends a man should leave behind when entering his 20's. As a young adult you want to be taken seriously. The way you dress says a lot about your maturity and self-respect. Let's discuss the teenage trends to ditch as an adult.
1. Graphic Tee's
So many guys in their 20's continue buying graphic tee's and loud prints for everyday casual wear. One or two graphic prints (tasteful ones) for wearing under a jacket or blazer is fine. Go for quality basics and stylish prints instead to look your age.
2. Cheap Belts
Remember those Jay Jay's cheap belts you bought in high school? Try holding them in one hand so the other can open the garbage bin. A cheap, teenage belt will make you look cheap and awkward. Go for a classic leather belt in a darker colour to look stylish.
3. Canvas Shoes
Cheap canvas shoes look about as good as they cost. Teenagers buy these shoes because they are affordable enough for the house parties they crash on the weekend. Go for a casual shoe at a higher price point that will actually last and retain it's look.
4. Bright Jeans
These types of jeans should be called the friendzoners. Perfect for the crazy 80's dress up night's or abstinence. If you own a pair of overly bright jeans and you're in your 20's consider using colour in other ways. Pocket squares, ties, socks and shirt designs are a great way to include colour whilst looking your age.
5. Gelled Hair
It's scary how often I see guys walking around with gelled hair. This style of spiking the hair was huge in the 90's but it's long gone now. To give yourself a more adult looking hairstyle go for a wax styling product.
