High Fade Hairstyle - Get The Look
Faded sides have been at the fore-front of popular men's hairstyles for the last five years. This is the perfect haircut for someone who wants a sharp look that is quick to style.
The Basics Time Required - 2-5 Minutes
Tools - Matt Styling Wax. To pull of this look you'll need medium length hair. Essentially this hairstyle has volume on top wit the sides and back fading from long to short.
The Haircut
Take this photo to your hairdresser and get them to cut it to style. You're best to get this style of haircut from someone with plenty of experience in men's hairdressing. You'll need to ensure they leave length at the top with an even cut. Along with a gradual fade from top to bottom on the sides and back.
In Hairdressing terms this is a high fade hairstyle with top volume.
Styling the Hair
Before using any styling product on your hair you'll want to make sure it's towel dried (for faster drying hit it with a blowdryer on high heat for 30 seconds). The best product for this kind of look is a matte styling wax. You'll need a strong/firm hold with low shine.
1. Apply a pea sized amount of product to your fingertips.
2. Rub your finger tips together until there are no lumps.
3. Push your fingers into the roots of your hair (just on the top section) working from back to front.
4. Apply more product to your finger tips. Use this product to lift the hair upwards with your finger tips creating an even and full look. (rake the fingers through the hair lifting it up)
5. As per the picture ensure the edges are blended to each side so that the 'fade' look is present. Follow your natural hairline, the sides will want to go in a specific direction.
6. Ensure the top section looks even with no missed areas. (Feel free to spray a tiny bit of hairspray over the top section to hold it in shape.) 7. People will now mistake you for David Beckham.
Suited Face Shapes
Medium length hairstyles are suitable for most face shapes, however this look has very short sides which will not suit every hair thickness or face shape. Best suited faceshapes are those with wider jaws and thick set features. This hairstyle is best suited to those with normal/thick hair.
